My name is Lyn Wells.  I'm proud to say that I've been an educator for more than 20 years and an ardent conservationist since graduate school. 

 While on leave during the 1999-2000 school year, I was intrigued by the question of what would happen if "the plug were pulled" and began scanning catalogs for products that run on alternative energy sources. The acquisition of such products led to a small retail shop, Stayin' Alive Survival Supplies. 

Although general interest in survival waned after the Y2K furor and I went back to teaching, I kept envisioning a 1-stop survival resource for information and products on the web, and 9-11 gave me the impetus to "flesh out" my web plans. 

My mission on this site is to offer a 1-stop alert service with 1) the best quality I can find of a large variety of products related to preparedness and survival, as well as environmental education; 2) a search service to find you a good price on preparedness products that I don't carry, including cutting-edge new technology; and 3) access to survival supplies and information in the event of a widespread crisis.
